Epistemic Humility

Knowledge of the world is filtered through a subjective lens; humans cannot fully know things in themselves. This limitation must be recognized and should lead to personal humility.

Ethics > Metaphysics

Epistemic humility leads directly to the idea that ethics takes priority over metaphysics. If we cannot know the actual world fully then the primary question becomes "how should we treat each other?" Ideas that lead to kindness and love can often be trusted while those that lead to hatred should be distrusted.

Action & Contemplation

Personal transformation should intersect with systems change. There is an interrelationship between the individual and society; each influences the other. Contemplation and personal growth should lead to action in the work towards creating a better world.

Non-violence

Non-violence should be practiced both in speech and action. All persons are worthy of being treated with dignity.
